MDK Services reputable Bed Bug Control Company proudly serving homeowners and commercial customers in San Angelo, Texas and the surrounding areas. The assumption one is a poor house keeper or has poor hygiene to have bed bugs is simply not true. Bed bugs can easily be transported from place to place as people travel. They hide in luggage, folded clothes, bedding, furniture, boxes, backpacks, briefcases, shoes, handbags, and other places. No business or residence is immune to a bed bug infestation. They hide in seams of mattresses, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, furniture, lamps, clocks, telephones, flooring, carpets, trim, curtains, upholstery, wall paper, picture frames, electrical switches, outlets, clothing, sofas, chairs, clutter, and other objects.

The common bed bug is a parasite that feeds on humans. Bed bugs do not attach to hair or skin or live on people, but generally come out at night to prey on their hosts and feed on any skin exposed while sleeping. Bed bugs feed by piercing the skin with an elongated beak through which they withdraw blood. Their saliva contains a numbing chemical that prevents the host from feeling the bite and they also administer an anti-coagulant when they bite, allowing the blood to flow more freely. Bed bugs feed from 3 to 10 minutes. Immediately after feeding they retreat to their hiding place to digest their meal. Bed bugs generally feed every 2 weeks and can live up to one year without feeding.

Inspection and identification is the basic first step for bed bug control. Once bed bugs are identified, customers will need to remove all linens, such as bedding, comforters, mattress pads, sheets, pillow cases, bed skirts, draperies, items from dressers, closets, etc. Customer places items in plastic bags before moving to laundry. Launder all linens in hot water, using the highest possible heat setting to dry. Dry clean items such as draperies, comforters, etc. Customers will need to remove items from night stands, book cases, decorative items, clutter, collectibles, etc. and placed storage bins. Customer is recommended to thoroughly vacuum mattresses, box springs, carpets, rugs, flooring, furniture, closets, shelving, chairs, etc. focusing on cracks and crevices. Immediately place vacuum bags or canister contents in a sealed bag and dispose of debris in outside trash receptacle.

Once the areas are prepped for the technicians they will begin work, starting with treating virtually every crack and crevice in the room and furniture. Mattress, box springs, head boards, mattress frames, dressers, chests, base boards, molding, trim, electrical switches, outlets, chairs, luggage racks, armoires, TV stands, lights, fans, etc.,. Wall voids are treated. Items placed in storage containers are next. In most cases mattress encasements will be used. Last but not least monitoring devices will be placed in strategic locations for any activity.
